The sound of the double twin Webers and the alloy engine makes you speechless. In the mountains the scenic villages increases your appetite. Narrow is the word in English, stretto in Italian. Ponte del Diavolo

The Devil's bridge, Ponte del Diavolo is close to Barga and Bagni di Lucca. A historic attraction and very impressive.

Collodi

We went to Collodi, the village of Pinocchio once again and suddenly a Swiss Spider friend came around. www.pinocchio.it

That evening, about ten minutes drive from the B&B, we enjoyed the Risotrante da da "Dino Toddo" together with Berit and Thomas. They were truly enjoying themselves too. Here we are, ready to order. Dino himself was so enthusiastic and offered the local specialties and composed magnificent dinners. Oh, yes, the red wine was excellent. This was during the European Football Championship, so the local people were very concerned about the TV. A 3-D map from the B&B was very useful. The friendly people there, Pinucchia and Umberto were very well informed about attractions and good roads. Thanks. What can I say, beautiful! Berit took a lot of pictures with very good results.

Take five in the sun. No need for air-conditioning, just drive with the top down. Or use your umbrella. We use an umbrella from the Dutch Spider Register. It is shaped to fit the Spider. have a look here if interested:

Time to say goodbye, leaving for Pian di'Sco, north of Arezzo in Toscana. Here we have Pinucchia and Umberto and Thomas. Do try this B&B while visiting Toscana. Want to see and learn more, check  Rusticosara- link and website  Pian di'Sco

Enjoying the dinner and the sunset. We spent a some days in Pian di'Sco which is located south of Firenze, east of Siena and North of Arezzo. Needless to say, it was up in the mountains. It was so fun.

In Siena, we found the houses very interesting. Such an atmosphere. This Padre in Siena was very friendly, though he did not like his picture taken. Italian wine at its best. Thomas had heard of a wine-yard so we went there of course. Berit took the good photos with her Nikon digital camera. Yet one more picture . . .
